[CLOSED] Hand of Sacrifice as Healing

Post by Pastafarian » Wed Jan 12, 2011 12:22 pm

I was wondering if it was possible to have divine sacrifice get attributed to healing done by the caster? With everyone having high healthpools, and tanks only having, oh, I don't know, 20-40% more health then everyone else, Using Divine Sacrifice as a holy paladin on a tank is a very valid strategy.

Do you have an example report with Divine Sacrifice in it? If so please link it here.

It looks like I got the spell name wrong, it's actually Hand of Sacrifice, and you can find it on this report: http://worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-dys0brfkyza9gyu4/

This is attributed as friendly fire. See this for an example.

It doesn't really make sense to count this as healing since you aren't healing anything, you are just moving the damage taken from one target to a different one. That damage still needs to be healed by somebody at some point, it doesn't just magically disappear ;)

The damage does magically disappear if the Palading using Hand of Sacrifice also uses Divine Shield or Hand of Protection (only physical damage). But I don't know if it would be good the handle this as healing done, since the usage of Divine Shield/Hand of Protection without Hand of Sacrifice isn't healing either.

Following that logic though the "healing" would be from Divine Shield, not Hand of Sacrifice.
