Support for the new fight detection events in 5.4.2

Post by cremor » Fri Nov 15, 2013 10:01 am

So, I just read on the Warcraft Logs main page (Link) that patch 5.4.2 will add new events to the combat log that indicate the start and end of fights and will also include difficulty and raid size data. Could you please add support for those events to WoL? That would be a huge improvement to fight boundary and difficulty detection.

Yeah, Blizzard has plans to add such events, but it's not even in current PTR build yet :( They may even end up postponing such feature. Let's wait and see...

Edit: ENCOUNTER_START/ENCOUNTER_END events implemented in client build 5.4.2.17595 and available on PTR now.

FYI: If you implement this, note that it seems like the ENCOUNTER_START event is sometimes logged some time before the fight actually starts. More info here: http://forums.warcraftlogs.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3330

devs here is so lazy that it takes years to implement things that must takes hours... seems they already earn all money they want and don't support any more... it already pass 4+ month and we don't even have heroic detection for last bosses...
