Log query on other pages

Post by Miles » Sat Sep 19, 2009 12:50 am

After a little pm by shibumi requesting some more options analytics options, I kinda remembered another relatively untested but quite important feature - the ability to add a query on top of most pages.

It shares the same code path as the "trigger" option in the log query, which was tested a bit in the last few days, so it wasn't much work to finish it.

The query filter is now active on the dashboard, [damage/healing][done/taken] by player page, the player details page and the spell details page. You can copy any query set from the log query page into the url to activate it; we'll add some UI improvements when we have the time for it.

My first use for it: who the heck failed at hitting the damned Snobolds on 25H Beasts?

Code: Select all

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-0lbv3LDWq673aKb1/sum/damageDone/?enc=bosses&boss=34796&query=[{%22actorNames%22:[%22Snobold Vassal%22]}]

I'm sure you guys are way more creative, so have fun finding new uses for it and don't be shy to share your best creations. Url is still messy, you'll have to bear it with us for the moment; help is on the way.

(untested theory: init a zlib (de)compressor with a dictionary containing all common key and values, symbols, to enable it to use backrefs immediately without warming up).

Nice!
I tested a couple queries on the "damage taken"graph so see who 'stands in the fire'.
For example, people 'forgetting' to swap colors in the Twin Valkyrs fight:

Code: Select all

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-0lbv3LDWq673aKb1/sum/damageTaken/?s=2836&e=3085&query=[{%22spellNames%22:%20[%22Light%20Surge%22]},%20{%22spellNames%22:%20[%22Dark%20Surge%22]}]

It could also be figured out by browsing the Light Surge spell details, except when people used the spell as wipe mechanic. The graph makes the phases visible.

I may be a lot to ask, it would be great to see other query events such as auras. For example, in the Hodir Fight, it would be good to see the Storm Power buff distribution in the raid or to be able to query who wasn't near to a Toasty Fire.

Hmm? Aura / uptime details is already available - you need to go to the "caster" of the buff ("Toasty Fire" in this case), go to the buffs cast tab and click on the right #; To see all the details including on who, click the triangle next to the buff name under the graph.

Example: http://worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-sjNqO ... auras-cast + click on # + click on triangle.

There's a list of all seen spells on the dashboard, I use that as a shortcut to the spell -> caster -> more details.

I really like this feature, but the graphs don't seem to match the data.

When I do

Code: Select all

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/3QLPkLsCVidIxnJI/log/?s=7122&e=7316&query=[{%22eventTypes%22:%20[1],%20%22targetNames%22:%20[%22Rubble%22]}]
I see that Altrina was the only one attack rubble for roughly 11 seconds starting at 22:41:39.701.

But when I put it into the chart page:

Code: Select all

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/3QLPkLsCVidIxnJI/sum/damageDone/?s=7122&e=7316&query=[{%22eventTypes%22:%20[1],%20%22targetNames%22:%20[%22Rubble%22]}]

The graph doesn't seem to represent the log. The numbers on the bottom are accurate, but the graph appears to be nearly unrelated. The damage starts much much earlier than Rubble even exists, and there's no part where Altrina is the only one dealing damage to them.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something incorrectly, but the other information shown looks good to me. It matches the Damage by actor section when I look at Details for Rubble.

Graphs are pre-calculated, so yeah, they won't match the numbers once you start playing with filters.
